Before we had a bit of what I have to explain what I think casual gamers, because there is no detailed description of either hardcore or casual gamers. For me, it is a casual player, if people who like to play occasionally, but has no interest in the market, developers, news, or the gaming industry as a whole. A casual player also has a limited interest in the game itself, playing only her familiar with the title and look beautiful on the cover. If you play Call of Duty and Madden or FIFA, the possibility that I will consider you a casual gamer. Soccer Moms and their descendants play hell with the Will which get the most out of all non-game is also a member of this group. Once again, there is no real definition, which makes any discussion of the complex casual gamer, but I have a clear vision of my mind this question.

So all the people buying the Wii and possibly other consoles, here or there, they play flash games on the internet, either, but they are part of the gaming industry, they like it or not. And I can not help but wonder if this development is good for us all as consumers. To understand the consumer segment for a better game, let me look back into history.

PostHeaderIcon The Motion Sensing Game Systems

Back in November of 2006 Nintendo unveiled the motion-sensing game system known as the Wii and in the process opened up gaming to a whole new audience. Video games have long been the domain of young males, a demographic that accounts for the majority of game system and video game sales. But with the Wii’s revolutionary stick-like wand controller many new users came on board to give it a try and Nintendo cashed in like never before seeing three straight years of record profits that finally slowed in March of 2009. During that time gaming competitors Sony and Microsoft have been busy designing their own motion-sensing game systems and used the recent E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles to announce their product launch dates.

PostHeaderIcon Will Kinect Succeed?

Kinect, formerly known as Project Natal, is a hands free game console by Microsoft. It was intended to be a challenge to Wii. The question is will Kinect be able to revolutionize the gaming industry? Or will it fail miserably to server as a warning to aspiring game console developers?

In E3 2010 presented in June 2010, several Kinect games were presented. Some of the videos can be found at Tinkrbox, a video/website bookmarking website. Games such as racing, fighting, running etc. Naturally, as a hands free game console, playing games on Kinect would require body movement and having players to stand, walk or even jump. With this in mind, players would not be able to enjoy the game console while sitting down. According to an article by John C. Dvorak, compiled at Tinkrbox, playing games on hardwood floors will definitely be a problem. Player who would want to rest while playing video games would not find Kinect appealing.

However, younger gamers who are active would find this appealing. Kinect will be a blast at parties, where there are lots of movements. Sport game fans would find this appealing too. Tai-Chi fans too might find this product excellent for self training. And of course, tennis fans would like to get their hands on Kinect.

PostHeaderIcon Backing Up Your Games in Nintendo Wii

Nintendo Wii has definitely made a mark in the industry of gaming both for young and adult gamers. This game console offers a kind of fun factor that could not be matched by the other consoles we have on the market. The massive line-up of games where you can actively participate in and enjoy is already a lot and still growing. Take note however that the Nintendo Wii console alone can be a bit expensive and so do the game discs that you can play or use on the system.

The game discs that you use on the system are no exception to the common problems that all discs encounter. By time, they do get scratched no matter how careful you handle them. These discs would eventually wear out and would not be used or play anymore. Knowing the price you have paid for one title, it is not advisable to buy a new disc with the same title just so you can continue enjoying that certain game.
